Fess up Friday!

Photobucket

I'm Fessin Up!

Somehow I ended up following my own blog, I guess I think I'm just that awesome. Now, how do I fix this?

Have you ever seen a striped lawn? Well, I managed to put stripes in our backyard. I thought I would do something nice for my husband, and this is how the "nice" turned out.

~The first two fess ups were from June 2011, which is when I started my very first Fess up Friday, and it's now almost November, hopefully I'll push the Publish Post button this time.

~Mat had a meeting with the two guys that are running the "intern discipleship house" for men last night. Did I forget to mention that the meeting was at 6:00pm. I was not prepared to make them dinner. But I felt bad for them, so I made some fresh rice and took a Tupperware container out of our fridge and dumped it on top of that fresh rice. Not to sure how they feel about left overs, but I did smell it to make sure it was still some what edible to eat. I don't think I gave them a choice.

~Yesterday, I volunteered in Kindle's class for the first time and it just so happened to be Drug Awareness Week. Thursday was "Wear your Sweats" Day and I took full advantage of that. I also took advantage of it today and wore them again when I dropped her off at school. Making a great impression on Betty Kiefer Elementary is what I do best.

~I feel like I'm already the "Cool Mom" according to Kindle's friends. ;) They come to our back fence at recess and tell me all sorts of interesting facts. I secretly want to feed them warm cookies and milk, but I'm afraid someone will call the police on me.

~Kindle needs to be picked up from school in five minutes, I need to get these sweats off.

Turning 30.

Turning 30 doesn't scare me anymore, or make me feel old. The last decade has been better than I could have ever imagined and it only gets better, right? Here are some of the moments that I remember from my twenties...

At age 20, I moved out of my parents house and I moved in with a friend, and then three months later I moved into my very own apartment.

21: Started dating my best friend (May 1st 2002 to be exact), the guy I had been in love with since I was 17. :)

21: Got my first and only waitress job. Something I was so scared to do and didn't think I could do it but by the time I left I was nominated for Waitress of the Year!

22: Was hired at StarMed, my first and only Corporate job. Making more money than Mat and I do now. I wish I understood the importance of saving back then.

22 (almost 23): I married my Best Friend and had the most perfect wedding.

23: Got pregnant with our precious little lady. (Sorry about the announcement Mom!)

24: Birthed my first child and full filled one of my dreams, a stay at home momma.

25: Went from being a young lady to a Woman. Learned the REAL meaning of being selfless and falling in love with God's gift to us.

26: Became a Pastor's wife and jumped into full time ministry. Something that was always in the back of my mind, but never saw it coming.

27/28: Being put in many different places WAY out of my comfort zone and still am being placed there.

28.95: We bought our first home!

29: Experienced grief after losing at least four people in six months, two being both of my Grandpa's.

29.75: God payed my way to India. A trip that changed my thinking.

I turned 30 while I was in India. I never would have thought that's how it would be, but I don't know if I would have had it any different. (well, I would have loved to have Mat and Kindle there.) Here's to another amazing decade. Cheers!

What are you doing this Summer?

After looking on my new found favorite website, Pinterest.com, I found someone's great idea of making a "Summer Board." A board full of all the fun and exiting things you and your kids will do this Summer. Kindle and I sat down and came up with a list of 60 things we decided we wanted to do. We grabbed some scrapbook paper, tacks, and markers and WhaLa! Happy Summer Everyone!

Pinterest.

I'm hooked. This is an answer to a pray that I didn't even know I prayed. A way to remember all of the great ideas I stumble across and to also categorize them. If you need or want an invite, let me know and I'll let you in on the fun. Warning... Set your alarm clock because three hours will go by before you know it.

Let's try this again.

It's been about a year since I last thought about my "blog." I usually stalk one of my dearest friends Kira McKee on her blog...

Photobucket

at least once a day, hoping that one day I could be as creative and funny as her. (Please stop by her blog, SHE IS SO FUNNY!) Today is the day I have decided once again that I should start blogging, so here I go...

I'm turning 30 in a couple months and at about the same time my little girl will be starting kindergarten, so I'm sure I'll have plenty of stories and maybe even a little more time while she is in school to keep up with this.

But who knows, maybe this will be my last post for another year and a half, here's to hoping not.

A little girls first memories.

Kindle had her first sleepover with her friend Valerie on January 3rd. Mat set up Kindle's new Barbie house and the girls... waiting ever so patiently, climbed up to the table and would look over Mat's shoulder and ask, "Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet?" They stayed up really late playing with their Barbies, Valerie was the mom and Kindle was the baby. When it was time to go to bed, Kindle made sure I knew I wasn't the mom. :) In the morning they had a princess cupcake party. Decorating cupcakes with a girlfriend is fun, but eating them and licking the spoon is way better!

Things Caught.

I stayed up last night asking God this question, "What did you want me to learn in 2009?" I read through my journal, realizing, that I actually learned a lot, but took most of it for granted. Having my mind focused on the day to day stuff rather than on what lasts, forgetting is easy to do. Here are a few things that I remember...

~The Kingdom of Heaven is here on Earth.

~Some things are taught, others are caught.

~No matter how hard you try, God is in control and He does have a plan, a great plan.

~Being a good steward of your money is actually fun.

~Being brave enough to live differently because I know how God thinks about me.

~I'm officially married to an ordained pastor, and that God really does work in mysterious ways. :)

~Grace will accept you where you are, but to great to leave you there.

~That it won't be the first time Mat travels for ministry without me, and I'm okay with that now because God is using me in ministry right here where I am.

~I got joy, joy, joy, joy, down in my heart and I won't let the devil steal that.

~When you forget about the little things you've asked God for, all of a sudden they're taken care of.

~Kindle is a precious gift that we were given to take care of, and what a joy it is!

~My best friend, my husband, my babe...I am now your biggest fan.
